Nacimiento (Na-cee-miento)  Is the Spanish word for nativity.  Mexican Artisans live in a country steeped in religious tradition, where they reverence the art of creating symbols that express their love for Mother Mary and Baby Jesus.  Each piece is handcrafted by artesian families who work to bring to life each Nacimiento scene.  Made from rich river bottom clay, they are hand formed, sun-dried, wood-fired and hand painted resulting in a unique and perfectly imperfect creation.
